Weekly Round Up 2

This week hasn’t been very eventful.  I tried to bust my butt working on my other website, but have learned that when 8pm rolls around and my kids are in bed, I am way too tired to work a few more hours.  I told myself that next week I will put in more time working late at night.  We’ll see if I follow through. I am still struggling with Parrot’s behavior issues.  He was sent home from school on Monday for bad behavior.  The school decided to add more social…

The New Healthy Moms Magazine and Other News from the Zoo

September flew by and now we’ve already finished the first week of October. I spent most of my blogging time last month switching my main blog from Blogger over to WordPress, so I haven’t updated this one in a while. Switching platforms on a blog that is 8 years old is not an easy task. I had to make sure I was using a self hosted site from WordPress.org, have a good url, (I ended up changing my URL to reflect the true title of the blog), move all of…

Remembering 9-11-01

Today is Remembrance day in the United States. It is a day of mourning and never forgetting. On September 11, 2001 terrorists attacked our country with passenger jets. Thousands of people lost their lives.  The terrorists flew into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and one airplane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. Just like the generation before me never forgetting where they were when JFK was shot and killed, I will never forget where I was and what I was doing when the events of 9-11 happend. I was in…

Online Friendships – Labor Day Weekend Disaster

This post is going to be a two part. My blogging bud, Lauren Becker from Shooting Stars Mag has challenged fellow bloggers to write about their experience with online friendships. Lauren talks about a Netflix film and book called “Another Girl,” which is essentially about online friendships.  I’ve been a blogger for 8 years now, wow it’s been that long, so I’ve had many experiences with online friendships. The second part is all about the disaster that happend this past weekend. Online Friendships During my early stages of blogging back…

A Lesson in Responsibility

Growing up my mother kept a clean and tidy home. She taught all five of us kids the importance of taking care of our things and the home.  As an adult I get anxious at the site of clutter and messes.  I can’t stand it. When the mess is too hard for me to handle I go for a walk. I must get away from it. If I want less anxiety I could spend all day cleaning up after my five children.  Kids are messy. However, if I do that…

The Cat and the Toothpaste

Let me tell you a story about a young boy and his cat.   The boy is very kind, caring and always does what he is told.  He loves helping out his mom and taking care of others.  He especially loves taking care of his cat. Every night the young boy  gets his pajamas on, reads a book, and brushes his teeth before bed.  He loves reading to his cat and she loves the attention she gets from the boy.  They read stories like, “That’s Not My Bear,” “Bubble Trouble,”…

Our Summer – Back to School – I’m Back to Blogging

Yeah! I am back, the kids are in school and we had one heck of a crazy busy summer. I am going to attempt to fit all three of those things in one post and get it written in less than 20 minutes. Plus, I am going to include a linky at the bottom of all of my posts so you can share a link to your latest blog post. That way I will visit your site sooner and won’t have to totally rely on my feed reader. So, yeah…

#WordlessWednesday with #linky on a Tuesday – The Lost Tooth

Wordless Wednesday is live on thehealthymoms.net and talbertzoo.com. Link up to your Wordless Wednesday post. Today is the last day of summer vacation and it’s already been a crazy one.  This morning Monkey came up to me and told me that his tooth was really loose. When I looked into his mouth I noticed that it was bleeding and the tooth was barely hanging on. I only wiggled it a little because I was afraid of hurting him. So I told him to go tell Kitty because she is good…

#WordlessWedneaday with #linky on a Tuesday – Graduation

Wordless Wednesday is live on thehealthymoms.net and talbertzoo.com. Link up to your Wordless Wednesday post. I’m sorry it’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog. I need to get my time management under control. For some reason there just isn’t enough hours in the day. We have been very busy here at the Talbert Zoo, with the end of the school year and Goose graduating from high school. On Saturday morning she recieved her high school diploma and Chris and I are very proud. She’s decided to work for…

This Week At the Zoo

It’s time to update this blog once again. Little Bear is taking a nap and the rest of the kids are at school. I’m sitting in my favorite spot on the comfy brown chair, with my soft brown blanket on my lap and Fox News on the television in front of me.  This is my happy spot. The place where I go to think about my day, relax, drink my coffee in the morning and drink my glass of wine in the evening.  This week has been unseasonably cool here…
