Friday Funny – #BlogHop #LinkUp – A Little Bear and a Song

I love music.  In fact I am a musician and have played the flute since I was in elementary school.  When I started college I was a music education major.  My dream was to become a high-school band director.  But, my dream ended when I failed music theory for the second time and was forced to either spend more years in school than I had first planned or change majors so I could graduate within five years.  It took me 4 1/2 years to finish my Bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in legal studies.  I was especially proud when I graduated because I was already a mother.  Goose was born when I was a freshman in college.  But that is a totally different story for a totally different post.

Anyway, back to Friday Funny.  I love music and appreciate most genres but I am a huge country music fan.  Chris and I went to the CMA music festival a few years back in Nashville and that was the most exciting, fantastic vacation that I have ever been on.  We also try to go to country music concerts when we have the time and money for it.  You can often catch me grabbing a copy of Country Music weekly at the grocery store too.  My favorite country music stars today are the current reining king and queen of country music, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.  I watch The Voice on television and my Pandora is always set to Blake Shelton radio.  My ring tone on my cell phone is “Boys ‘Round Here.”

Little Bear and me selfie taken this morning (3/28/2014)

When I am out and about with the kids in the van I have my favorite country music station on the radio.  Often Monkey and Bear will sing along. Sometimes, Parrot will too, but it is usually Monkey or Bear.  Whenever Miranda Lambert’s song, “Mama’s Broken Heart” comes on little Bear belts the words out as loud as he can. He practically yells the chorus which goes like this:

“Go and fix your make up, girl, it’s just a break up
Run and hide your crazy and start actin’ like a lady
‘Cause I raised you better, gotta keep it together
Even when you fall apart
But this ain’t my mama’s broken heart”

Every time he yells those lines I can’t help myself. I laugh so hard I feel like I am going to pee my pants.  Have your kids ever done something so innocent, but funny to the point where you can’t help but laugh? Someday I will get little Bear on video singing “Mama’s Broken Heart.”  In the meantime you can watch the beautiful Miranda Lambert sing it in this video below.
