Happy Halloween…And Other Missed Adventures

I don’t know why I chose this title just yet but I am sure it will come to me as I write. Sorry it has been over a month since I’ve updated this blog. I guess October flew by so fast that I feel like I missed it. Why does this always happen?

I get so wrapped up in life that the days feel like they are going by quicker and quicker. Sometimes I wish that I could just slow down time and enjoy myself, my husband and especially my kids.

When time flashes by like a speeding train I forget about what may still be important, like this blog, the learning journal I have been talking about starting for Parrot, the jewelry craft project I promised Kitty we would do this fall when the weather gets colder, potty training Monkey and spending more time marketing my online store.

But what is really important here and now? That is what I need to ponder. The here and now is Halloween. So here goes. My kids are excited about the holiday filled with sweets and treats. I don’t know what excites them even more dressing up or getting all the sugar that they have been denied for the last nine months of the year. One way or another I am going to make sure their candy is gone before Thanksgiving. I haven’t figured out how just yet but I will work my magic and it will all disappear. If I can’t make this happen then I am going to have to attach rubber to my walls!

What do you do about all the sugary sweets that your kids get on Halloween? Do you let them eat the candy? Or do you have a secret to making it all disappear? If so do share!!

Are your kids dressing up for the holiday? Goose is going to paint her face white and black and I spray painted her hair black and she wore all black to school. I think she is some kind of vampire without the scary teeth. Kitty is Rapunzel this year, or will be if her wig doesn’t get tangled up by her curious brothers before she heads out Trick-Or-Treating tonight. I think the sparkles and long wispy locks attracts little boy fingers. Parrot is going to be the American…correction The United States flag for Halloween. Yes this was his idea. Yes I am wrapping his little body in a real US flag. Monkey is Bam Bam this year. We thought this would be appropriate for him. Grandma made the costume and it is so darn cute! Too bad we have to put it over his clothes because it gets really cold here. Little Bear is wearing the infant skeleton costume that his brothers wore in the past. I am so glad that he is tiny enough to fit into the costume that Parrot and Monkey wore when they were half Bear’s age.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

  1. What a cute little skeleton! I let my kids enjoy as much candy as they wanted to on Halloween night up to a cut-off wind-down time before bed, but the next days they were allowed several pieces each day after dinner. Eventually, they got sick of it though, or just picked through the stuff they liked.

  2. Happy Halloween!

We give the boys a week to eat whatever candies they would like, and then the rest goes in the trash.

My husband helps them eat a lot too.
