Resurrecting Old Posts

Resurrecting Old Posts from my other blog. When my Healthy Moms blog was still new I used it as a personal diary. I wrote a ton of posts about what my life was like when my kids were little. Now that blog is a professional online magazine, so I had to save those old posts as drafts. I’ve decided that I need to bring them back and publish them on this blog, because the Talbert Zoo was set up to be my personal diary. My life sure was different then,…

Weekly Round Up

I decided to start something new here at the Talbert Zoo. Lately I’ve only been updating this blog for Wordless Wednesday on a Tuesday because I am trying to grow my following over at my main site. But, I understand that I also have a loyal following here. I appreciate every one of my readers on both blogs, however, my family depends on the income I bring in from my other site. When my page views on the Healthy Moms Magazine reached a plateau I knew I needed to make…

Thank You for Being a Part of My Community

The Talbert Zoo is my personal blog that I use as a diary, mostly to vent and document what my life was like while my kids were/ are little.  I value all the comments that I receive here. If you are reading this I call you my friend.  Online friendships and face to face personal friendships are equally important to me. I appreciate each and every comment on this blog. Many of you know that I have been blogging since 2007 on my main website, the Healthy Moms Magazine.  The…

On Vacation…Sort of

I’m going to put the Talbert Zoo on hold for a bit while I spend more time growing my main blog. Healthy Moms Magazine is my first blog and the site that I depend on for weekly paychecks. After I switched over to WordPress and changed my URL my traffic went down 600%.  All the experts that I spoke with about my website suggested that I switch to WordPress.  They all said that WordPress is more SEO friendly than blogger, so I should get an increase in search engine traffic…

The New Healthy Moms Magazine and Other News from the Zoo

September flew by and now we’ve already finished the first week of October. I spent most of my blogging time last month switching my main blog from Blogger over to WordPress, so I haven’t updated this one in a while. Switching platforms on a blog that is 8 years old is not an easy task. I had to make sure I was using a self hosted site from WordPress.org, have a good url, (I ended up changing my URL to reflect the true title of the blog), move all of…

Online Friendships – Labor Day Weekend Disaster

This post is going to be a two part. My blogging bud, Lauren Becker from Shooting Stars Mag has challenged fellow bloggers to write about their experience with online friendships. Lauren talks about a Netflix film and book called “Another Girl,” which is essentially about online friendships.  I’ve been a blogger for 8 years now, wow it’s been that long, so I’ve had many experiences with online friendships. The second part is all about the disaster that happend this past weekend. Online Friendships During my early stages of blogging back…

Our Summer – Back to School – I’m Back to Blogging

Yeah! I am back, the kids are in school and we had one heck of a crazy busy summer. I am going to attempt to fit all three of those things in one post and get it written in less than 20 minutes. Plus, I am going to include a linky at the bottom of all of my posts so you can share a link to your latest blog post. That way I will visit your site sooner and won’t have to totally rely on my feed reader. So, yeah…

#WordlessWednesday with #linky on a Wednesday – Spinning

Wordless Wednesday is live on thehealthymoms.net and talbertzoo.com. Link up to your Wordless Wednesday post. I’m sorry I have fallen way behind on blogging and commenting and responding to comments on both of my blogs. Yesterday we closed on the house and I wasn’t able to get on my computer at all. The whole day was crazy busy and closing lasted nearly 3 hours.  Now I have over 100 e mails to respond to, 300+ comments and less time because all the kids are home for summer. E-mails equals more…

#WordlessWedneaday with #linky on a Tuesday – Graduation

Wordless Wednesday is live on thehealthymoms.net and talbertzoo.com. Link up to your Wordless Wednesday post. I’m sorry it’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog. I need to get my time management under control. For some reason there just isn’t enough hours in the day. We have been very busy here at the Talbert Zoo, with the end of the school year and Goose graduating from high school. On Saturday morning she recieved her high school diploma and Chris and I are very proud. She’s decided to work for…
