Anxiety and Anticipation

Summer is almost here.  Out in Spokane the school year ends a little late.  The last day of school this year is on June 12.  The last couple of weeks are filled with fun activities.  Goose is done taking her end of course exams for the year and is watching movies in all of her classes.  Kitty is practicing for the school talent show which is on June 10. Parrot has been bringing home art projects nearly every single day.  And Monkey has his pre-school graduation party this afternoon.  The final day of school is a half day and my kids are looking forward to summer vacation.

For Chris and I our anxieties are increasing mainly due to the unknown.  What is going to happen this August and when are we going to learn the details?  The requiter for the position Chris applied to at work has told him that they are planning on offering him more than enough money for relocation and moving expenses and the Vice President in the division wants him to work in the Chicago office.  They are still working on the details of the offer, but Chris still hasn’t seen the complete formal job offer.  We do not know how long it will take for it to go through the proper channels for approval.

All of this leaves me nervous, anxious and wondering why the requiter even told Chris that they are working on the offer.  Chris and I are very organized people and we are planners.  We want to start packing today, but need to know more details first.  Every day I go online and look at homes for rent and research the school districts.  But, there is only so much I can do with just the Internet.  I wonder if it is too soon for me to do more.

In the meantime I am going to try my best to concentrate on the here and the now.  I am going to go to Monkey’s graduation party and celebrate his accomplishment. Next week I will attend the talent show and proudly watch my little girl make the audience laugh.  Hopefully, I will be able to capture it in video as well.  Life will continue as normal.  I need to get past my anxieties.
